"Behold, a Flaming Star," script by Gary Friedrich and Dick Ayers, pencils by Dick Ayers, inks by George Roussos (as George Bell); Ghost Rider is given the sacred spirit stone (which gives the wearer tremendous strength) by Flaming Star; On his way home Ghost Rider is shot by Towering Oak (the son of Flaming Star), who steals the stone; Towering Oak tries to take over his tribe, but is forced to fight the Ghost Rider in a trial by combat; Ghost Rider wins when Towering Oak's heart gives out from the strain of the stone; Flaming Star decides to bury the stone rather than give it back to Ghost Rider.
